Salome's Profile:

Salome has been interviewed by the United Arab Emirates magazine "STARS", appeared as cover and feature in "Jareeda" magazine, in "SAHDA" from Vancouver, Canada and has been featured in countless newspapers around the globe. Salome was honored to be the feature model for the renowned Turkish costume designer Ismail of Sim Moda Evi for the Turkish magazine “DANS”.

In the late 1970's Salome's mother, Cynthia, took up "Belly dance". She was the quintessential picture of the time; performing in coined bedlah to the strains of George Abdo and the Flames of Araby Orchestra.

When Salome was twelve she began formal study of Oriental dance from Kameal, a spectacular teacher in Corvallis, Oregon. Salome went on to perform in Kameal's dance company "Bayt al Nejmah" along side her mother. "Bayt al Nejmah" performed solely to the live music of "Joseph Pusey and the Nile Spice Orchestra", in which Salome's step-father, Kevin Hylton, was the percussionist. For many enriching years to follow her family performed with Joseph, Kameal and company.

By seventeen Salome was accepting professional solo engagements. She performed in Oregon and Washington in a myriad of venues, independently and through entertainment agents.

Salome's career soon took her abroad with representation by "Rising Stars", "Classic Models", and "Showhouse" (among others) she has worked exclusively in luxury venues abroad in a near successive string of short and long term engagements.
